The DOs and DON’Ts of Your Tachus Modem

March 28, 2024 | Customer Support

During the installation day, a technician from Tachus will set up one of our Fiber modems in your residence. This modem is the link between your home and our fully fiber network, and it’s what your Wi-Fi devices will connect to.

If you’re not familiar with your Tachus modem, there’s no need to worry. Here are some fundamental guidelines for connecting to and utilizing our equipment.

The modem we’ll install is a Zhone, which will function as your Optical Network Terminal (ONT). This device will be a black, flat, rectangular box.

Our DZS Fiber modem

In case our technical support team ever instructs you to power cycle your modem, you’ll need to initially press the On/Off switch or disconnect your power cable, followed by a one-minute wait.

Subsequently, press the On/Off switch once more or reconnect your power cable. Avoid performing this action without consulting a technical support team member, and refrain from hitting the reset button.

And if you’re unsure what to do, please let our tech support know so they can walk you through each step. With this in mind, let’s go over a few more “DOs” and “DON’Ts” of your Tachus modem.
